BARASAT: A young United Sports Club fell short 2-0 to Southern Samity in their Calcutta Premier Division – A 2016/17 encounter held at the Barasat Stadium in Kolkata.

Southern Samity played attacking football from the very start. Basanta Singh (4th) and Ashim Biswas (55th) scored in the either side of the field to ensure their team’s maiden win in the competition on Wednesday.

United SC, on the other hand, despite missing five key players in Eric Brown, Bello Rasaq, Babun Das, Dinesh Bhagat and Jagannath Oraon played some spirited football throughout the game but inexperience caused the Purple Brigade yet another match.

United Sports will take on Peerless Sports Club next on August 11, 2016 at the same venue while Southern Samity will take on Mohun Bagan August 14 at Mohun Bagan Ground.
