UP Rudras showcased an impressive performance as they defeated Soorma Hockey Club 3-0 in the Hero Hockey India League 2024-25 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. Early goals and a solid defensive effort propelled the Rudras to their second win in the tournament.

KOLKATA: Cue Magicians, led by an in-form Sourav Kothari, Snookin Shooters with marquee player Siddharth Parikh, Pappu Penguins led by Kamal Chawla, and The Rockets led by Sundeep Gulati will vie for the top honours at the inaugural Bengal Premier League at the Bengal Rowing Club. The matches will be played on a knock-out basis with the top two teams – Cue Magicians and Snookin Shooters – vying for a place in the finals. The losing team will then play the winners of the match between Pappu Penguins and the Rockets to have another shot at the finals.

At the end of the Round Robin phase which ended at the BRC today, Cue Magicians topped the table after winning all their eight matches. Snookin Shooters won six of their eight matches while Pappu Penguins won five and The Rockets won four out of their eight matches.

Continuing his sublime form in the tournament, Sourav Kothari once again displayed fine skills beating Suniti Damani 101-32, before pairing with Kingshuk Saha to beat the Shahbaaz-Dhirendra duo 68-33. Shoaib Khan rallied to beat Shivam Saraf to take his team through. However Saif Khan lost Manish Jain in the opening frame.
