Drag flick specialist Ashraful Islam netted four goals for Bangladesh to give 3 vital points to the host in the first match of group A. India earned their first penalty corner in the 20th minute but Silpreet Singh’s shot couldn’t trouble Bangladesh defense. The Indians, who won the inaugural Asia Cup in 2001, equalized a minute later after Dharminder Singh calmly sent the ball into the net from a penalty stroke. In another match, Pakistan defeated Chinese Taipei by 6-1, and China triumphs over Hing Kong by 6-0 in Groupo B match.
