Hyderabad, 6th October 2016: The semifinal games of the 43rd Arise Steel Sub-Junior National Basketball Championship 2016 concluded today at the SATS Indoor Stadium, Saroornagar in the city.

Mr Aadhav Arjuna, Managing Director of Arise Steel Industries, the title sponsors of this championship, was the chief guest of the evening. He shook hands with both the Telangana and Rajasthan boys squads accompanied by Mr R Sridhar Reddy, President of the Organising Committee & Hyderabad District Basketball Association and Mr M Rajender Reddy, President, Telangana Basketball Association.

In the girls section, Chhattisgarh beat Maharashtra in a closely fought 51-45 game. Khushboo Gupta top scored for the defending champions with 19 points. In the second semifinals, southern rivals Tamil Nadu and Kerala battled hard before Kerala prevailed 66-62.

In the two boys semifinals, defending champions BFI-Madhya Pradesh* and Rajasthan separated themselves in the second half against Haryana and Andhra Pradesh respectively, to set up their summit clash.
