KOLKATA: Central Secretariat successfully progressed into the quarter-final league stage of the 121st Beighton Cup after beating SAI Training Centre 5-1 at SAI Complex in Kolkata on Tuesday.
While Joshua Vessoakar converted from penalty corner, Nilesh K.A. and Jayesh Jadhav scored a couple of field goals each for Central Secretariat, who led 3-0 at half time, before Raushan Kumar struck a consolation goal for SAI.
Central Secretariat, who are pitted in Group B alongside Indian Oil and Army XI, would take on Indian Oil tomorrow at 2:30 pm.
Meanwhile the second match of the day between Eastern Railway and Howrah Union got abandoned due to some unavoidable circumstances and will be played tomorrow at 9 am.
