PNB, ONGC and Indian Oil makes into the Beighton Cup semis

KOLKATA: Punjab National Bank, ONGC and Indian Oil has made it to the semi-finals of the 121st Beighton Cup after winning their respective matches against CAG Delhi, Punjab & Sind Bank and Army XI on Saturday at SAI Complex in Kolkata.

In the first game of the day, Punjab National Bank trounce CAG Delhi 5-1. For PNB, Gagandeep Singh struck a brace while Gurjinder Singh, Sumit Toppo and Shamsher Singh each sounded the board once before Navneet scored a consolation goal for CAG.

In others matches, ONGC edged past Punjab & Sind Bank 4-3 in a nail biting encounter. Simranjeet Singh, Ajay Yadav, Diwakar Ram and Jasbir Singh were on target for ONGC while Sarvanjit Singh scored twice  with Gaganpreet Singh also getting on the scoresheet for Punjab & Sind Bank.

In another fixture, Indian Oil beat Army XI 3-0. Roshan Minz, Vikas Sharma and Deepak Thakur netted the goals.

These three teams will be joined by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in the semifinals, to be played on Monday where Bharat Petroleum will face Punjab National Bank while ONGC takes on Indian Oil.
