Amsterdam: India’s bunch of juniors made some impact in the just concluded Dutch junior Open squash with Neel Joshi and Ananya Dabke winning the respective U-15 boys’ and girls’ titles.
Both top talent in their age, Neel, who was the top seed defeated England’s Alhassana Khalil 9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 in the final while Ananya who was seeded 9/12 beat the second seed Serena Daniel of USA 11-7, 11-4, 12-10 for the title. The Mumbai girl had earlier beaten the top seed Chukwu Chinyere of Hungary in semi-final.
Vikas Mehra (U-19) and Arnaav Sareen (U-15) made third place finishes while Rutva Samant (U-13), Kanhav Nanavati (U-15) were placed fourth in their respective age categories.
In all 16 players (11 boys and 5 girls) had taken part in this prestigious European event for juniors.
