This win propelled Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table. The match, held at Kenilworth Road, was a pulsating contest where the lead exchanged hands multiple times. Arsenal controlled the early game, but Luton Town made their presence felt with strong challenges.

The second half saw Luton Town draw level again, thanks to a header from Elijah Adebayo. Ross Barkley then gave Luton the lead with a low left-footed shot.
