SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento Kings dazzled with a record-breaking shooting performance, sinking 25 three-pointers in a 131-118 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. This display of sharpshooting set a new franchise record for the Kings.

De’Aaron Fox led the Kings with 28 points and nine assists, showcasing his all-around game. Domantas Sabonis added a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds, along with nine assists, underscoring the team’s high level of play. Keegan Murray and Malik Monk also made significant contributions, scoring 24 and 21 points, respectively.

The Kings’ exceptional team play was evident in their 38 assists, a season-high for the team, reflecting their effective ball movement and shooting prowess. “We’re a team that can shoot the basketball, and it was evident tonight,” said Kings coach Mike Brown.

Sacramento shot an impressive 25 of 45 (55.6%) from beyond the arc, breaking their previous record of 23 three-pointers in a game. Fox and Trey Lyles led the way, each hitting five three-pointers. Monk, who also nailed four three-pointers, compared this season’s offense to last year’s, calling it the best in the NBA.

The Nets, led by Mikal Bridges with 22 points, were one of the Eastern Conference’s hottest teams coming into the game, with six wins in their previous seven games. However, they struggled against the Kings’ aggressive defense and sharp shooting.

Sacramento maintained a comfortable lead for most of the game, although Brooklyn managed to close the gap to six points with six minutes remaining. Harrison Barnes’s timely three-pointer helped the Kings pull away once more.

Fox set the tone early for the Kings with a corner three-pointer in the first quarter, and the team never looked back. They limited Brooklyn to just 18 points in the first quarter and held a steady lead throughout the game.

After the Nets narrowed the margin in the third quarter, Sacramento regained control with a series of dynamic plays, including a thunderous dunk by Monk and a three-pointer from Murray. The Kings’ effective ball movement led to many open looks, which they capitalized on.

Looking ahead, the Nets face a challenging game against the Phoenix Suns, while the Kings take on the Los Angeles Clippers.

This win for the Kings highlighted their offensive firepower and teamwork, showcasing their potential as a formidable force in the league. The Nets, on the other hand, will look to regroup and regain their form in their upcoming games.
