This win marked the continuation of Detroit’s harrowing 21-game losing streak, tying the longest in the franchise’s history.
Embiid, who also grabbed 11 rebounds, has been a force to reckon with, averaging 40.8 points and 12.3 rebounds in the past four games. His versatility and unpredictability in scoring have been a highlight, with 76ers coach Nick Nurse noting Embiid’s effectiveness in various scoring methods.
The Pistons’ ongoing struggle is a grim echo of their past, matching their longest losing streak that spanned from the 1979-80 to the 1980-81 seasons. This stretch is recorded as the sixth-longest single-season losing streak in NBA history, with the team’s overall record dropping to 2-22.
