The Super Bowl is making a grand return to Southern California, with Super Bowl LXI scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood in February 2027. NFL owners approved the decision at the December League Meeting, marking the second time in five years that the prestigious event will be held at this venue.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed his excitement about bringing the Super Bowl back to Los Angeles, citing the city’s outstanding performance in hosting Super Bowl 56 at the state-of-the-art SoFi Stadium. He anticipates that Super Bowl 61 will be even more memorable, with the Los Angeles Rams, the Los Angeles Host Committee, and other partners working to create a week of unforgettable events.

SoFi Stadium is the home of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams, the latter of whom made history by winning Super Bowl LVI at their home site, becoming only the second team in NFL history to achieve this feat. The announcement also highlights that California will host consecutive Super Bowls, with Super Bowl LX planned for Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in 2026.

The upcoming Super Bowls are set for different venues across the United States, with Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas hosting Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX in 2025, and Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for Super Bowl LX in 2026, leading up to Super Bowl LXI in Inglewood.

This decision reinforces Southern California’s strong association with the Super Bowl. The region’s history with the event dates back to the very first Super Bowl in 1967 at Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum. Super Bowl LXI will be the ninth Super Bowl in the greater L.A. area, with previous events held at the Coliseum, Pasadena’s Rose Bowl, and now the second at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium.

To cater to the high demand, On Location, the Official Hospitality Partner of the NFL, has launched its Priority Access deposit program today for Super Bowl LXI ticket packages. This program is currently the only way for fans to secure guaranteed seats for the game, as tickets are not yet available for sale.

The return of the Super Bowl to SoFi Stadium is a significant event for the city of Los Angeles, promising to bring a week of high-energy sports, entertainment, and cultural celebrations in 2027.
