DENVER — Nikola Jokic etched his name in the NBA record books by becoming the first player to achieve at least 10 triple-doubles in seven consecutive seasons, leading the Denver Nuggets to a commanding 124-101 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. This win marked the Nuggets’ third straight triumph.

Jokic, the driving force behind the win, delivered an impressive performance with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists, registering his 115th career triple-double during the regular season. The defending champion Nuggets also welcomed back Jamal Murray, who had been sidelined with ankle soreness. Murray contributed significantly with 16 points, while Peyton Watson added 18.

The Nets, playing their second game in as many nights on the road, were without Dennis Smith Jr., who is recovering from an upper-back injury. Spencer Dinwiddie led the team with 17 points, and Cam Thomas chipped in with 13.

Denver, already ahead by 13 points at halftime, exploded for 38 points in the third quarter. Jokic was instrumental in this surge, capping the quarter with a driving layup. Entering the fourth quarter with a commanding 90-67 lead, the Nuggets continued their dominance, extending their advantage to 103-78 on Christian Braun’s breakaway dunk midway through the period.

The Nuggets comfortably played their reserves for much of the final quarter, maintaining a significant lead throughout. Murray’s 14 points in the first half were crucial, as Denver set the defensive tone by allowing only 39 points, their lowest in any half this season.

Looking forward, the Nets face a challenging encounter against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. The Nuggets, riding high on their recent success, will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on the same night, aiming to extend their winning streak and solidify their status as title defenders.
