LONDON – West Ham United delivered a commanding 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Mohammed Kudus netting twice and Jarrod Bowen adding a third. This win propels the Hammers to seventh in the Premier League and marks a significant rebound from their 5-0 defeat against Fulham last weekend.

David Moyes’ tactical adjustments, bringing in Emerson Palmieri and Edson Alvarez, proved pivotal. The Hammers seized control early on, with Lucas Paqueta orchestrating a swift move from a Wolves corner. Kudus, the star from Ajax, received Paqueta’s pass and unleashed a precise low shot, outsmarting Dan Bentley at the near post.

Wolves, under the guidance of Gary O’Neil, showed resilience with Matheus Cunha testing Lukasz Fabianski from distance. However, West Ham’s relentless pressure soon paid dividends. Kurt Zouma’s interception sparked another quick transition, culminating in Kudus’ second goal, a clinical right-footed finish off Paqueta’s exquisite pass.

Wolves nearly halved the deficit when Pablo Sarabia found the net, but VAR intervention ruled out the goal for offside. This setback did little to diminish West Ham’s momentum. In the 74th minute, Paqueta, in a playmaker’s masterclass, set up Bowen for a smooth finish into the bottom-left corner, effectively sealing the match for the Hammers.

This victory is a testament to West Ham’s resilience and tactical adaptability under Moyes. Kudus emerged as the standout performer, marking the earliest double by a West Ham player in a home Premier League match since Mark Noble against Manchester United in April 2011.

West Ham’s rise to seventh place, now with 27 points, showcases their capability to bounce back from setbacks and maintain a strong position in the league standings. Conversely, Wolves, stuck in 13th place with 19 points, will reflect on missed opportunities and seek to rediscover their scoring touch in upcoming fixtures.

The result underscores West Ham United’s potential as a formidable force in the Premier League, combining tactical astuteness with individual brilliance, exemplified by Kudus and Paqueta in this match.
