MIAMI GARDENS, FL — The Miami Dolphins delivered an emphatic performance, shutting out the New York Jets 30-0 on Sunday. Raheem Mostert set a new Dolphins single-season record with his 20th touchdown, and Tua Tagovailoa’s efficient passing led Miami to a dominant victory.

The Dolphins, now 10-4, continue to lead the AFC East, maintaining their playoff push. Mostert scored two touchdowns in the game, breaking Ricky Williams’ 2002 record for rushing touchdowns and surpassing Mark Clayton’s 1984 record for total touchdowns in a season.

Tagovailoa completed 21 of 24 passes for 224 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins’ quarterback was replaced in the fourth quarter by Mike White with the team comfortably ahead.

The Jets, falling to 5-9, struggled offensively, managing only 103 total yards. Quarterback Zach Wilson left the game with a concussion late in the second quarter. Backup Trevor Siemian couldn’t spark the Jets’ offense, throwing two interceptions.

New York’s playoff hopes were further diminished with the loss, compounded by wins from AFC rivals Houston and Cleveland. The possibility of Aaron Rodgers’ return this season also seems unlikely, as the Jets are no longer in playoff contention.

The Dolphins’ defense was relentless, sacking Wilson four times and limiting the Jets to just 4 yards in the first half. Safety Brandon Jones intercepted Siemian twice, contributing to Miami’s dominant defensive display.

Bradley Chubb, Miami’s star edge rusher, had an outstanding game with seven combined tackles, three sacks, three quarterback hits, two tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery.

Injuries were a concern for both teams. The Jets lost defensive lineman Quinton Jefferson and safety Tony Adams, while the Dolphins saw wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and right tackle Austin Jackson leave the game but return later.

Looking ahead, the Dolphins will host the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday, while the Jets will face the Washington Commanders at home, as both teams continue their respective campaigns in the NFL season. For the Dolphins, this victory is a testament to their resilience and ability to bounce back from previous disappointments, keeping their playoff hopes alive and well.
