Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards continue their West Coast trip, facing the Sacramento Kings in Sacramento on Monday night. This game marks the second stop for the Wizards, following a narrow 112-108 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Poole, returning to his old Pacific Division stomping grounds where he played with the Golden State Warriors, had a tough outing against Phoenix, contributing just 14 points. His shooting struggles were evident, with a 5-for-17 performance from the field and only 2-for-9 from beyond the arc. The Wizards, who had a strong first half and led by as much as 16 points, were ultimately undone by a 31-19 Suns surge in the fourth quarter.

Kings fans have vivid memories of Poole from his time with the Warriors, especially his performances in Golden State’s seven-game playoff series victory over Sacramento. Poole had notable contributions in that series, including a 22-point game that helped even the series at 2-2.

Aside from Poole, Kyle Kuzma of the Wizards also struggled with his shooting in Phoenix, managing only 17 points on a 7-for-22 shooting night. Washington’s overall three-point shooting was lackluster, hitting just 30.4 percent from distance.

Despite the loss, Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr. saw positives in the team’s play and is looking to build on the momentum from their recent 137-123 victory over the Indiana Pacers. In that game, Poole and Kuzma had significantly better shooting performances.

The Kings, meanwhile, are coming off a day of rest following their impressive 125-104 win over the Utah Jazz. Sacramento’s Keegan Murray starred in that game, setting a franchise record with 12 three-pointers and notching a career-high 47 points.

Kings coach Mike Brown praised the team’s collective effort and assist count, emphasizing their strong bond and teamwork. The Kings have had a successful start to their six-game homestand with two victories.

De’Aaron Fox, who missed the last game due to an irritated right shoulder, might return for the matchup against the Wizards. His absence was not deemed serious.

The Kings have faced Golden State three times this season, with the Warriors holding a 2-1 advantage in those meetings.

Both the Wizards and Kings will look to capitalize on their recent experiences as they face off in what promises to be an intriguing contest.
