The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today further underlined its commitment to developing future leaders within its Member Associations (MAs) and Regional Associations (RAs) with the launch of the inaugural AFC Certificate in Football Administration and Management (ACFAM).
The online programme is the latest initiative from the AFC’s Academic Centre of Excellence (ACE) and comes on the heels of their other breakthrough educational opportunities, including the AFC Certificate in Football Leadership and the AFC Certificate in Child Safeguarding.
In his address to prospective candidates, AFC General Secretary Datuk Seri Windsor John said: “Since its inception in 2021, the growing reputation of the AFC Academic Centre of Excellence has resulted in an increased demand for its landmark initiatives from Asia and beyond.
“The launch of the ACFAM signifies a timely new addition to the Academy’s innovative delivery of programmes as it looks to continuously engage participants more readily. This has contributed greatly to remarkable outcomes across all its initiatives.
“It is my firm belief that participants will find the ACFAM experience greatly beneficial and enjoyable. I foresee successful graduates going on to elevate both their associations and Asian football to greater heights.”
Designed to equip aspiring leaders with relevant strategic and administrative competencies as well as football-specific skillsets and tools, the ACE programmes aim to enable participants to skilfully and proficiently oversee and manage the day-to-day operations in a football organisation.
The ACFAM is open to managers and administrators of all levels from MAs and RAs as well as independent stakeholders. The self-paced programme will be delivered asynchronously to provide participants with the opportunity to learn at their own convenience.
The programme, which comprises 12 comprehensive modules of approximately 180 minutes each, encompass The Organisation of World Football, International Sports Federations, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Income Generation, Media & Communications, Event Management, Operational Management, Human Resource Management, Child Safeguarding & Social Responsibility, Sports Law and Club Licensing.
The progress of the participants will be assessed by a series of online quizzes and at the conclusion of the ACFAM, they will be able to understand key football management and administration concepts, analyse industry challenges and prospects, and develop and strengthen managerial and operational skills.
