ST. LOUIS – The Chicago Blackhawks were defeated 7-5 by the St. Louis Blues at the Enterprise Center on Saturday, in a game that saw Connor Bedard of the Blackhawks score an impressive “Michigan”-style goal. Despite the loss, Bedard’s goal was a highlight of the night.

Bedard’s goal came early in the first period, tying the game at 1-1. He showcased his skill by scooping the puck on his stick behind the net and lifting it into the goal over Blues goalie Jordan Binnington’s shoulder. This marked Bedard’s first such goal in the NHL and his 13th of the season.

The Blues, however, responded strongly, with Jordan Kyrou scoring twice, and both Robert Thomas and Justin Faulk contributing a goal and an assist each. The Blues showcased a remarkable comeback, scoring five consecutive goals, including Faulk’s wrist shot in the third period to complete the rally from a three-goal deficit. Pavel Buchnevich and Kevin Hayes assisted on two goals each, and Binnington made 15 saves.

For the Blackhawks, Nick Foligno scored twice, with Taylor Raddysh and Jarred Tinordi each providing three assists. Despite a strong offensive performance, goaltender Arvid Soderblom’s efforts with 35 saves were not enough to secure a win.

The game was notable for its pace and intensity, with the Blues outshooting the Blackhawks 22-2 in the third period. The Blues’ third-period performance was particularly impressive, as they scored five goals within a 10-shot span, including three consecutive shots to tie the game.

Thomas extended his point streak to five games, accumulating 10 points (three goals, seven assists) during this period. Bedard also continued his point streak, bringing his tally to six points (one goal, five assists) over four games. Kyrou, with his two goals, has eight points (four goals, four assists) in his last five games and led the game with seven shots on goal.

This victory adds to the Blues’ impressive record against the Blackhawks, with 12 wins in their last 16 encounters since April 3, 2019, and a strong home record of 7-1-1 in their last eight games against Chicago.
