ST. PAUL, Minn. – Kirill Kaprizov extended his goal-scoring run, contributing significantly to the Minnesota Wild’s 3-2 win against the Boston Bruins at Xcel Energy Center on Saturday. This victory marks Kaprizov’s third straight game with a goal, showcasing his critical role in the team’s success.

Kaprizov, who has been in excellent form, scored the crucial goal and added to his four-game point streak, totaling seven points (four goals, three assists). Minnesota coach John Hynes praised Kaprizov’s consistent performance. “He’s always played well, and now he’s getting the rewards for his efforts,” Hynes said.

The Wild (15-13-4) also saw contributions from Joel Eriksson Ek, with a goal and an assist, and Marcus Foligno, who scored as well. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury made 19 saves, securing Minnesota’s sixth win in seven games.

David Pastrnak scored his 20th goal of the season for the Bruins (19-7-7), who are experiencing a rough patch with four straight losses and six in their last seven games. Goalie Linus Ullmark made 32 saves. “We need to focus more on the present and stay in the moment,” said Bruins coach Jim Montgomery.

The game saw a strong start by the Bruins, with Pastrnak scoring on the power play. However, Eriksson Ek’s power-play goal tied it for the Wild. Kaprizov then gave Minnesota the lead, and Foligno extended it in the third period.

Boston’s Morgan Geekie’s late goal narrowed the gap, but the Wild held on for the win. “We need to increase our compete level and win more battles,” said Boston captain Brad Marchand.

Notably, Bruins defenseman Ian Mitchell replaced Kevin Shattenkirk, playing 10:50. Fleury achieved a milestone, earning his 550th career win, approaching Patrick Roy’s record of 551 wins.

For Minnesota, forward Jacob Lucchini made his debut, contributing one hit and two shots. The Wild’s power play was effective, going 1-for-5 and creating scoring opportunities.

The victory is a testament to the Wild’s determination and skill, particularly in tight games, while the Bruins will aim to address their recent struggles as they look to rebound in upcoming matches.
