PORTLAND, Ore. — Anfernee Simons’ stellar 29-point performance propelled the Portland Trail Blazers to a convincing 130-113 win over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. Duop Reath’s career-high 25 points and nine rebounds off the bench played a crucial role in Portland’s victory, especially with key players Deandre Ayton and Shaedon Sharpe sidelined due to injuries.

The Trail Blazers, who aimed for a strong start and improved home play, achieved their goal under Coach Chauncey Billups’ guidance. Malcolm Brogdon added 19 points, while Scoot Henderson and Jabari Walker each contributed 17 points off the bench.

Henderson’s playmaking was particularly noteworthy, as he dished out a career-high 11 assists with only one turnover, showcasing his unselfish style and playmaking abilities.

Despite a heroic effort from De’Aaron Fox, who scored 43 points, and Domantas Sabonis with 34 points, the Kings struggled as they lacked other significant contributors. Coach Mike Brown expressed concern over Sacramento’s defensive performance, highlighting it as a persistent issue.

Looking ahead, the Trail Blazers face back-to-back home games against the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday and Friday. The Kings, on the other hand, will travel to Atlanta for their next game on Friday, looking to bounce back from the defeat.
