MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Sacramento Kings delivered a commanding performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, cruising to a 123-92 victory on Sunday night. Malik Monk led the charge with an impressive 27 points, while Domantas Sabonis contributed a triple-double, amassing 13 points, 21 rebounds, and 12 assists.
De’Aaron Fox added 24 points for the Kings, who have now won two consecutive games. Sabonis’ standout performance marked his sixth triple-double of the season. The Kings were in fine shooting form, hitting 50% from the field and an impressive 52% from 3-point range, allowing both teams to play their reserves in the game’s closing stages. Monk was particularly efficient, going 10 of 13 from the field and missing just one of his five attempts from beyond the arc.
The Grizzlies, who were led by Jaren Jackson with 18 points, saw contributions from Desmond Bane, Ja Morant, and Luke Kennard, each chipping in with 17 points. However, their efforts weren’t enough to prevent Memphis from suffering their third consecutive loss.
Returning home after a mixed 2-2 road trip, which concluded with defeats to the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis had most of its roster available, barring long-term absentees Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke. Luke Kennard was back in action after a 20-game absence due to a left knee bruise.
Coming off a 117-110 win over Atlanta, where Fox scored 31 points, the Kings continued their impressive shooting, having posted 70 points in the first half against the Hawks. Their momentum carried into the second half against Memphis, with a 15-3 run extending their lead to 85-61, as the Grizzlies struggled, missing their initial eight shots of the quarter. Sacramento’s dominant 31-21 performance in the third period set them up for an easy victory.
Looking ahead, the Kings return home to begin a four-game homestand against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, continue their three-game homestand, hosting the San Antonio Spurs on the same day.
