UP Rudras Dominate Soorma Hockey Club with a 3-0 Victory in Hero Hockey India League

UP Rudras showcased an impressive performance as they defeated Soorma Hockey Club 3-0 in the Hero Hockey India League 2024-25 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. Early goals and a solid defensive effort propelled the Rudras to their second win in the tournament.

Domantas Sabonis continued his exceptional form, recording his second consecutive triple-double to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 135-130 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Sabonis finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists, marking his eighth triple-double of the season and third in his last four games.

De’Aaron Fox matched Sabonis with 24 points for the Kings, who have won four of their last five games. Keegan Murray contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Harrison Barnes added 16 points in a well-rounded team performance.

The Raptors, who cut their deficit to just two points with under three minutes to play, were led by Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes with 20 points each. Dennis Schroder and Pascal Siakam both scored 18, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Kings’ offensive onslaught.

Sacramento’s strong 42-15 advantage from beyond the arc was a key factor in their win. The Kings also had a dominant end to the first half, going on a 9-0 run to lead by 20 points at halftime. This surge was fueled by consecutive 3s from Murray, Malik Monk, and Barnes, and a layup plus foul by Fox.

Sabonis set the tone early, scoring 12 points in the first quarter, helping the Kings to establish control from the start.

For the Raptors, this game came amidst a period of transition and speculation. Following their trade of OG Anunoby to New York for Quickley and RJ Barrett, Toronto has been involved in ongoing trade rumors, with Siakam reportedly also on the market. The Raptors were also without Gary Trent Jr., who was sidelined due to a bruised left quadriceps.

Looking ahead, the Raptors will continue their six-game West Coast trip against the Golden State Warriors, while the Kings will host the New Orleans Pelicans.

Sabonis’ standout performance, coupled with strong contributions from the Kings’ starters, highlights their potential as a cohesive and potent unit. The victory against the Raptors not only underscores Sacramento’s offensive capabilities but also positions them as a team to watch in their upcoming games.
