FOXBOROUGH, MA — The New England Revolution has announced the signing of goalkeeper Henrich Ravas from Widzew Łódź, a Polish top-flight team. Ravas has committed to the Revolution through the 2026 MLS season, with an option for 2027.
Sporting director Curt Onalfo praised Ravas’ progress and abilities, noting, “His physical traits and top-flight European experience should allow for a seamless transition to MLS.”
Ravas, 26, has accumulated 161 professional appearances, including his time at Derby County and Slovakian club FK Senica. While he has yet to debut for Slovakia’s senior team, he served as the third-string goalkeeper during the Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Head coach Caleb Porter expressed optimism about Ravas’ potential, citing his consistent growth and experience as indicators of his readiness to contribute to the Revolution’s success.
Ravas’ acquisition comes after the Revolution transferred Djordje Petrovic to Chelsea FC and faced subsequent goalkeeping changes. Ravas is expected to bring stability to the position as the team prepares for the upcoming MLS season and their Concacaf Champions Cup campaign.
The Revolution, under the new leadership of Caleb Porter, will start their 2024 league season against D.C. United on February 24 and face CA Independiente de La Chorrera in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round One prior to their MLS kickoff.
