NEW YORK — OG Anunoby continued his impressive start with the New York Knicks, scoring a team-high 23 points in their resounding 112-84 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night. This win marked the fifth consecutive victory for the Knicks since Anunoby joined the lineup, with the team showing remarkable dominance during his time on the court.

Anunoby’s performance was particularly notable in the first quarter, where he scored 16 points and helped the Knicks establish a 19-point lead. His efficient shooting, including going 4 of 5 from beyond the arc, set the tone for the game. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau praised Anunoby for his contributions, highlighting his defensive prowess, quick ball movement, and shot-making ability.

Julius Randle contributed 20 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, while Quentin Grimes and reserve guard Miles McBride added 17 and 16 points, respectively. The Knicks’ impressive form has elevated them to fourth place in the Eastern Conference, with a 22-15 record.

Anunoby, who was traded from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, has seamlessly integrated into the Knicks’ system. The team has outscored their opponents significantly with Anunoby on the floor, and his presence was again felt against the Blazers, with the Knicks being 26 points better during his 29 minutes of play.

Jerami Grant led the Trail Blazers with 21 points, while Anfernee Simons was the only other Portland player to score in double figures with 12 points. The Trail Blazers struggled against the Knicks’ fast-paced play, a point of emphasis highlighted by Portland coach Chauncey Billups before the game.

The Knicks’ control of the game was evident, outscoring the Blazers 25-11 in fast-break points. They extended their lead to 22 points by halftime and continued their dominance in the third quarter, reaching their largest lead at 94-55.

Anunoby’s arrival in New York has sparked a remarkable turnaround for the Knicks, who look to maintain their winning streak as they visit the Dallas Mavericks next. Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers, who have lost four of their last five games, will aim to bounce back against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
