CHICAGO — The Chicago Bulls secured a narrow 124-119 victory over the Houston Rockets in an intense overtime battle on Wednesday night. Coby White led the Bulls with an impressive 30-point performance, while Zach LaVine’s crucial 3-pointer with 1:46 left in overtime was pivotal in sealing the win.
LaVine, back from injury with no minute restrictions, contributed significantly across the board, finishing with 25 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. This marked the Bulls’ third consecutive win, with DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic also playing key roles, scoring 19 and 18 points respectively.
The Rockets, despite a strong effort, fell short. Alperen Sengun, who remained scoreless in the first half, emerged with a notable 25-point contribution. Fred VanVleet added 20 points and 10 assists, while Jabari Smith Jr. recorded 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Houston’s comeback from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter highlighted their resilience but wasn’t enough to clinch the win. The game saw dramatic shifts, with the Rockets briefly leading in overtime before LaVine’s six straight points shifted the momentum back in Chicago’s favor.
The Bulls’ sharpshooting was a key factor in their victory. They shot 8 for 11 from the 3-point line in the second quarter, with White scoring 11 points to help the team lead at halftime. Chicago finished 19 for 47 from beyond the arc, countering the Rockets’ defensive strength against 3-point shots this season.
Looking ahead, the Rockets continue their six-game road trip in Detroit on Friday, while the Bulls prepare to host the Warriors the same night.
