Shamil Gasanov Overwhelms Oh Ho Taek To Win By Unanimous Decision In ONE Fight Night 18 Main Event

January 13, 2024 – Bangkok, Thailand: ONE Championship™ (ONE) put together a captivating evening of martial arts action in U.S. primetime with ONE Fight Night 18: Gasanov vs. Oh.

In the main event, #4-ranked featherweight MMA contender Shamil “The Cobra” Gasanov leaned on his impeccable grappling to prevail over “Spider” Oh Ho Taek.

The Russian powerhouse authored a commanding performance, leveraging his superior ground game to consistently outmaneuver Oh from bell to bell.

In the second round, “The Cobra” came close to sealing the deal with a tight rear-naked choke. However, his South Korean opponent showed uncanny resilience and valiantly fought back, pushing the bout into the third stanza.

Gasanov picked up where he left off in the final five minutes of the match, dominating Oh with grappling excellence to win by unanimous decision.

In the co-main event, Suablack Tor Pran49 pushed himself to the limit to defeat Stefan Korodi in a fiercely contested bantamweight Muay Thai fight.

Despite a strong start, Suablack faced adversity in the second round when Korodi connected with a powerful right hand to send the Thai to the canvas. Suablack regained his composure after beating the 10-count, and then he responded with a barrage of devastating strikes, turning the tables on Korodi by dropping the Irishman twice in that same round.

In the third and final frame, both men stood toe-to-toe and unloaded their heaviest attacks. However, Suablack’s effective combination striking down the stretch ultimately secured him a unanimous decision victory on the scorecards.
