Las Vegas – The Calgary Flames continued their winning ways with a solid 3-1 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Saturday. Blake Coleman’s goal and assist, coupled with Jacob Markstrom’s impressive 31-save performance, played pivotal roles in securing the win for Calgary, which has now won three consecutive games.

Nazem Kadri and Mikael Backlund also scored for the Flames (20-18-5), showcasing their offensive depth. Calgary’s coach Ryan Huska praised the team’s effort, acknowledging the challenge of winning in Las Vegas, especially given some of the key players missing from the Golden Knights’ lineup.

The Golden Knights (24-13-5) faced an uphill battle without center Jack Eichel, who was sidelined due to a lower-body injury. Despite the loss, goalie Logan Thompson made 23 saves. Chandler Stephenson scored Vegas’ lone goal, providing a brief spark in the third period.

Calgary’s early scoring, starting with Coleman’s power-play goal, set the tone for the game. Kadri’s and Backlund’s goals further extended the lead, with Backlund’s skillful backhand shot highlighting the Flames’ offensive prowess.

Vegas’ coach Bruce Cassidy expressed disappointment in the team’s performance, particularly in the battles in front of their net. The Golden Knights’ inability to capitalize on their chances and compete effectively in crucial areas was evident.

Coleman’s recent form, with two or more points in three straight games for the first time in his NHL career, was a significant contributor to the Flames’ success. Markstrom’s goaltending, especially his 14 saves in the third period, ensured Calgary maintained their lead.

The victory for the Flames is a testament to their growing confidence and ability to execute effectively. For the Golden Knights, the focus will be on regaining form and overcoming the challenges posed by key player absences.

Both teams will aim to build on their performances as they continue through the NHL season, with Calgary looking to sustain their winning streak and Vegas seeking to bounce back from this setback.
