UP Rudras showcased an impressive performance as they defeated Soorma Hockey Club 3-0 in the Hero Hockey India League 2024-25 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium. Early goals and a solid defensive effort propelled the Rudras to their second win in the tournament.

In accordance with Article 32.1 of the AFC Statutes (Edition November 2023), the AFC’s Member Associations (MAs) were notified on 30 November 2023, that the election of members for the AFC Executive Committee (remaining term 2023-2027) would be held at the 34th AFC Congress in Bangkok, Thailand in May 2024.

The MAs had to submit the nomination of their candidates for election to the AFC Executive Committee, as per the requirements set out in the AFC Statutes (Edition November 2023) and the AFC Electoral Code (Edition 2023) for the following positions:

• One AFC Female Executive Committee Member (Central Zone); and
• One AFC Executive Committee Member (East Zone).

Subsequently, the AFC received the following nominations for the above positions:

• One AFC Female Executive Committee Member (Central Zone)

Ms. Mijgona Mahmadalieva (Tajikistan) 
Ms. Hurma Kuliyeva (Turkmenistan)

• One AFC Executive Committee Member (East Zone)

Mr. Mong Gyu Chung (Korea Republic)

The nominated candidates will now be required to go through an eligibility check conducted by the AFC Electoral Committee.

In accordance with Article 4.1 of the AFC Electoral Code (Edition 2023), the AFC Electoral Committee will be responsible for all tasks relating to the organisation, running and supervision of the elections.

The final list of candidates will be published at the latest 30 days prior to the 34th AFC Congress as stipulated in Article 32.19 of the AFC Statutes (Edition November 2023) and Article 9.3 of the AFC Electoral Code (Edition 2023).
