ORLANDO, Fla. – Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey led the Philadelphia 76ers to a dominant 124-109 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday night. The duo each scored over 30 points, marking the eighth time this season they have achieved this feat, breaking a 58-year-old franchise record set by Wilt Chamberlain and Hal Greer in the 1965-66 season.

Embiid, the NBA’s leading scorer, tallied his franchise-record 19th straight game with 30 or more points, despite not playing in the fourth quarter. Maxey, who has scored 20 or more points in 11 straight games, took charge in the final quarter, expanding the 76ers’ lead while Embiid rested.

76ers coach Nick Nurse praised the duo, acknowledging the potential for further growth, especially for Maxey. Maxey’s performance in the fourth quarter was highlighted by Embiid, who referred to him as the team’s best player during crunch time.

Wendell Carter Jr. led the Magic with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Jalen Suggs added 16 points. Rookie Paolo Banchero contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

The victory marked the 76ers’ ninth consecutive road win with Embiid in the lineup, highlighting his significant impact on the team. Embiid’s 28 first-half points set the tone for the game, drawing praise from Magic coach Jamahl Mosley for his MVP-level play.

Embiid’s efficient scoring included making all 11 of his free throws, totaling 36 points in just 31 minutes of play. The 76ers’ strong performance was punctuated by an 11-0 run, featuring Embiid and Maxey, which established a commanding lead.

The Magic, missing forward Franz Wagner due to an ankle injury, struggled to contain the 76ers’ offensive firepower.

Looking ahead, the 76ers face the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, while the Magic host the Miami Heat on Sunday. As the season progresses, the 76ers will look to build on their strong performances, particularly from their dynamic duo of Embiid and Maxey.
