Cam Thomas Leads Nets to 130-112 Victory Over Lakers

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Brooklyn Nets ended their four-game losing streak with a convincing 130-112 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night. Cam Thomas was the star of the show, scoring 33 points and helping the Nets dominate the second half to secure the victory. This win marks the Nets’ fourth in their last 18 games.

Thomas, who had an impressive 20-point performance in the first half, continued his scoring streak, making it his sixth 20-point half of the season. Nic Claxton contributed significantly with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Spencer Dinwiddie added 19 points, 13 of which came in a pivotal third quarter. The Nets outscored the Lakers 38-22 in the third quarter, tying their best point differential for a quarter this season.

The Nets’ offense was on full display, with 19 3-pointers made, including four each by Thomas, Dinwiddie, and Mikal Bridges. Their largest lead extended to 23 points in the final quarter.

The Lakers, now below .500 with a 21-22 record, received strong performances from Anthony Davis and LeBron James, who scored 26 and 24 points, respectively. D’Angelo Russell also contributed 20 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Nets’ offensive onslaught. The Lakers have struggled recently, with a 7-13 record since winning the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament.

Brooklyn’s comeback began early in the third quarter, erasing a six-point deficit with a significant 23-8 run. Bridges’ three-pointer was crucial in giving the Nets their first lead of the game.

Looking ahead, the Nets will face the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, while the Lakers will host Portland the same night. This victory for Brooklyn is a morale booster, especially after close defeats in their previous games, and they’ll aim to build on this performance in their upcoming fixtures.
