Surrey: Indian star Saurav Ghosal’s exciting journey ended at the semi-final stage with the top seed Mohamed Elshorbagy of Egypt beating him 13-11, 11-8, 11-9 late on Saturday in the Channel VAS championship, a major PSA world tour event here.
Ghosal had come in as a qualifier and beaten two seeded player enroute to the last four but the former world number one , Elshorbagy proved a tough nut to crack. But it was not an easy match for the Egyptian, even forced to save a game ball in the first game. Even though Ghosal played high standards forcing Elshorbagy to earn his points, the Indian could not dominate beyond a point.
