DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche secured a 4-1 victory against the Arizona Coyotes at Ball Arena on Saturday, with Nathan MacKinnon extending his impressive point streak to 18 games. MacKinnon’s streak, marked by 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists), is now the longest in the NHL this season.

The Avalanche (21-11-2) showed a solid performance with Fredrik Olofsson contributing a goal and an assist, Valeri Nichushkin scoring, and Logan O’Connor assisting twice. Alexandar Georgiev, in goal for Colorado, made 24 saves, bolstering the team’s success.

The Coyotes (17-14-2), despite their recent winning streak, couldn’t match the pace of the Avalanche. Alex Kerfoot managed to score for Arizona, and goalie Connor Ingram recorded 22 saves.

The Avalanche took an early lead with Bowen Byram’s goal at 8:37 of the first period. Nichushkin added to the lead in the second period with a one-timer from MacKinnon’s pass. Josh Manson and Olofsson further extended the lead with their respective goals.

Kerfoot’s power-play goal in the third period was the only response from the Coyotes, but it wasn’t enough to challenge the Avalanche’s dominance in the game.

The Avalanche’s consistency and high-level performance were evident throughout the match, with the team executing effectively against a determined Coyotes side. Coach Jared Bednar praised the team’s complete performance, especially in the second period, which he considered one of their best this season.

This win adds to the Avalanche’s recent string of successful games, and with MacKinnon’s ongoing point streak, the team looks set to maintain their strong form in the upcoming games. The Coyotes, on the other hand, will aim to regroup and bounce back from this setback.
