Sourav Kothari wins it for Cue Magicians in Bengal premier League

KOLKATA: A flawless performance by current World No. 3 in Billiards Sourav Kothari helped Cue Magicians beat Black Panthers on the first day of the inaugural edition of the Bengal Premier League (Cue Sports) held at The Bengal Rowing Club.

 

Black Panthers, led by their marquee player and Asian Games gold medalist Manan Chandra, clinched the first two frames 94-27, 102-20. Cue Magicians struck back strongly with Kothari winning the next two frames on the trot 70-33 (doubles with Kingshuk Saha), 38-01. With both the teams winning two frames each, it was left to Arshad Zama to win the decider 69-01.

 

In the other matches of the day, Snookin Stars, Satrangi Squad and The Rockets won their matches comprehensively by beating Shooting Stars, Pappu Penguins and City Knights respectively.
